Sacramento County HealthShack Project Underway
AltruIT, the owner of HealthShack, is working with The Children’s Partnership and Aspiranet to expand the reach of HealthShack so that young people between the ages of 18 and 20 years of age who are in, or aging out of, foster care in Sacramento County have access to this unique electronic personal and health care record system. This year-long project, funded by The California Wellness Foundation, will assist youth in developing and maintaining their electronic health, education and other important records, and also will develop HealthShack’s capacity to link with existing county data systems.
In addition, this demonstration project seeks to inform policymakers about the impact that youth-focused electronic personal and health record systems can have on the health, well-being and care of this population, and to assist the state of California in developing workable plans for providing electronic records to all children and youth in foster care.
